HERO - Studying : for current and potential students, their parents or advisors

Welcome...
HERO - Higher Education and Research Opportunities in the United Kingdom
HERO - all you need to know

WELCOME TO HERO.

HERO's a strange name for a website, we know, but it's one that makes sense when you find out that we're here to provide the information you need about Higher Education & Research Opportunities in the UK - HERO (www.hero.ac.uk).

We're owned by several organisations - including the UK's higher education funding bodies - which puts us in a good position to explain all aspects of higher education.

As a current higher education student, or someone thinking about starting a higher education course (or their parent or advisor), we reckon you'll find the pages in this section, Studying, most useful but you can access the other main sections (including in-depth profiles of all universities and colleges that offer higher education courses) from the links at the top of each page.

In this section's information pages, listed down the left-hand side of each page in this section, you'll find information to guide you through choosing a course, applying to university or college and funding your study.

Each page contains a concise topic summary of the relevant information and links to the key websites that contain further information, or allow you to do something useful related to the topic.

Each month we also publish a number of features, written by people up and down the UK on various issues that will be of interest to potential and existing students. You can access these through the Studying homepage.

Whatever your interest in studying in the UK, we hope these pages prove useful.
