Exploring your choices

THERE ARE a number of key considerations when trying to work out the best course for you.

Hopefully, our choosing where to go and what to study pages have highlighted some of the most important things to think about.

To make up your mind, we would recommend that you:
  • Prioritise the things that are most important to you both academically and socially. Ask "why would I enjoy that?", "Will I be interested in it"? Start looking for institutions and courses that fit these priorities.
  • Read prospectuses and entry profiles of courses you think would be good.
  • Go to a UCAS Convention which has lots of information on offer and representatives of universities and colleges under one roof.
  • Go to open days of the universities and colleges you are most interested in.
  • Start looking at detailed course leaflets and independent QAA review reports using your criteria to find the "best fit"
  • Draw up a shortlist of the places you are going to apply to and revisit the institutions that interest you the most.
  • Check the Unistats website to help refine your choices.
