Contact details for universities and colleges can be found in our University finder pages |
WHILE THE ACTUAL process of applying for a higher education course is generally handled through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) that doesn't mean you can't get in touch with universities and colleges at any time. You can find contact details for all universities and colleges offering higher education courses through our University finder pages and staff will be only too happy to help with any queries you may have. Institutional websites are another good source of information and many contain details of both facilities and courses. Most university or college sites will also allow you to request, download or view a complete prospectus online. Our University finder pages contain direct links to the most appropriate pages on institutional websites to allow you to do this. Universities and colleges also run a number of open days for potential students to get a feel for the institution and university life. They may also be able to organise individual tours. The scope of these events varies but may include a campus tour, sample lectures and seminars, a chance to quiz subject staff and talk to current students. Bear in mind, however, that as most undergraduate admissions are centralised through UCAS, institutions will not generally accept direct admissions or be able to tell you about the status of any application you have made to one of their courses.
(You can, however, deal direct with institutions about places on courses if you have entered the UCAS Clearing system once exam results have been published although, even here, the processing of admissions will be handled by UCAS). |
