HERO - Inside HE : for higher education (HE) professionals and those interested in HE

Welcome...
HERO in a box
HERO - all you need to know
WELCOME TO HERO.

The Higher Education & Research Opportunities in the UK (HERO) site acts as a gateway to the UK's higher education system and relevant organisations within the sector.

Our member organisations include the UK's higher education funding bodies which puts us in a good position to explain all aspects of research in the UK.

As someone who works in some aspect of higher education, or someone interested in how higher education institutions operate we reckon you'll find the pages in this section, Inside HE, most useful but you can access the other five main sections (including in-depth profiles of all universities and colleges that offer higher education courses) from the buttons at the top of each page.

In this section's information pages, listed down the left-hand side of each page in this section, you'll find information on working in higher education in the UK. There are also details of a wide range of high quality information and selected services of relevance to higher education.

This section includes information on employment, training, working practice and how policy and government impacts on HE organisations.

Each page contains a concise topic summary of the relevant information and links to the key websites that contain further information, or allow you to do something useful related to the topic.

Each month we also publish a number of features, written by people up and down the UK on various issues that will be of interest to researchers or those with an interest in research. You can access these through the Inside HE homepage.

Whatever your interest in higher education in the UK, we hope these pages prove useful.
